  • How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies depending on the nature and severity of your condition. Some patients may need just a few visits, while others may require ongoing therapy. The therapist will help set expectations based on your progress.
  • Will physical therapy be painful?
Therapy may involve some discomfort, especially if you’re recovering from an injury or surgery. However, therapists will work within your pain tolerance and adjust treatment to ensure you’re comfortable while still making progress.
  • When should I see a physical therapist?
If you're experiencing pain, limited mobility, recovering from surgery, or need help managing a chronic condition (like arthritis), physical therapy can help. It’s also helpful if you’re trying to improve athletic performance or prevent injuries.
  • What is physical therapy?
Physical therapy helps patients recover from injuries, manage pain, and improve mobility through exercises, manual therapy, and other treatments. It's designed to enhance movement and prevent future injuries.
  • What should I expect during my first visit?
During the initial visit, the physical therapist will conduct an evaluation, which may include a review of your medical history, a physical exam, and discussions about your goals. The therapist will then create a personalized treatment plan.
  • Will my insurance cover the cost of physical therapy?
Most insurance plans do cover physical therapy, but the level of coverage varies. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to verify benefits or we can assist with verifying coverage for you.
  • Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we accept Blue Cross, Regence, Moda and Pacific Source, car insurance (after a motor vehicle accident), and workers compensation. Please check with your insurance provider or contact us to confirm coverage and understand any out-of-pocket costs.
  • What if I don’t have insurance?
If you don’t have insurance, we offer affordable self-pay options and payment plans. Please reach out to us to discuss pricing and payment arrangements.
  • Do I need a referral from my doctor to see a physical therapist?
Most insurance plans do not require a referral for physical therapy. Contact your insurance provider or our clinic for specific requirements.
  • Can physical therapy help with back pain?
Yes, physical therapy is highly effective for treating back pain. Our physical therapist can assess your condition and design an individualized program to relieve pain, improve strength, and prevent future issues.
  • What should I wear to my physical therapy appointment?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, such as athletic wear. If your treatment involves a specific body part (like a knee or shoulder), wearing clothes that allow easy access to that area is recommended.
  • What techniques do physical therapists use?
Techniques may include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy (e.g., joint mobilizations, soft tissue work), modalities like heat or cold therapy, ultrasound, and patient education on posture and body mechanics.
  • What types of conditions do our physical therapists treat?
They treat a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to: Musculoskeletal injuries (e.g., sprains, strains, fractures) Post-surgery rehabilitation Chronic pain (e.g., back pain, joint pain) Nerve pain Sports injuries Balance and coordination issues Postural correction
  • Do you offer home exercise programs?
Yes, home exercise programs are often part of the therapy plan to continue progress outside of the clinic. Your therapist will provide instructions and may give you exercises to perform between appointments.
  • Can physical therapy help with posture problems?
Yes, physical therapy can help correct posture issues by addressing muscle imbalances, strengthening core muscles, and teaching proper body mechanics for sitting, standing, and moving.
  • Can physical therapy help prevent future injuries?
Yes, physical therapy focuses on strengthening muscles, improving flexibility, and correcting movement patterns, all of which can reduce the likelihood of future injuries.
  • How long will it take to see results?
Many patients notice improvements within a few sessions, but recovery time varies depending on the severity of the condition. Progress may take weeks to months, and consistency with exercises and follow-up visits plays a key role.
  • Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes, we offer gift certificates for massage sessions, which make a great gift for birthdays, holidays, or special occasions.
  • How often should I get a massage?
The frequency of massage depends on your personal goals. For general relaxation, monthly massages may be sufficient. For chronic pain or injury recovery, more frequent sessions may be recommended (e.g., weekly or biweekly). Your therapist can advise you on the best schedule based on your needs.
